Musical legends Sir Paul McCartney and James Brown will headline this summer's (04) Glastonbury Festival in England.

Festival organiser Michael Eavis has revealed the former BEATLE signed to headline the Saturday night at the annual weekend June event, just two days after last year's (03) bash.

Speaking to students at OXFORD UNIVERSITY, Eavis also confirmed troubled soul star Brown was booked to appear - but he was still waiting to hear back from rock sensations The Strokes and Oasis.

American rockers THE KINGS OF LEON will also play at Glastonbury, but Eavis dealt an embarassing blow to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Although he insisted he'd let them perform if they asked, Eavis said he thought the ROLLERCOASTER rockers were "more for 14 year olds".

Glastonbury 2004 will take place over the weekend of 25, 26 and 27 June in Pilton, Somerset, south west England.
