Sir Paul McCartney and his young wife Heather Mills underwent unusual fertility treatment in order to conceive their longed-for baby.

Former model Heather is due to give birth in November (2003) after travelling all the way to Mexico and Iceland with her famous husband for treatment.

The proud parents-to-be threw a party for friends to celebrate the happy news in MACCA'S hometown of Liverpool, and along with singing the Sister Sledge hit WE ARE FAMILY and the Beatles classic LET IT BE, the ageing rocker made it clear he wants his existing family to make every effort to welcome Heather properly to their brood - fashion designer daughter STELLA has been at the centre of speculation she does not approve of her dad's new wife.

One guest adds, "He leapt on stage when the band started We Are Family and took over. It seemed a clear message to Stella that now Heather's pregnant he wants the McCartneys to be one big family."

As well as Stella, Sir Paul is also father to MARY and James from his marriage to his late wife LINDA, and Linda's daughter HEATHER from a previous marriage. The new Mrs McCartney, however, has suffered two ectopic pregnancies as well as cancer of the uterus.
