The solo career of Sir Paul McCartney is to be the subject of an exhibition in the former BEATLE's hometown of Liverpool, England.

PAUL McCARTNEY - THE SOLO YEARS, which opens on Saturday (26JUL03), will focus on Macca's continuing musical career and his involvement with his former school, the LIVERPOOL INSTITUTE FOR PERFORMING ARTS, where he is a leading patron.

JERRY GOLDMAN, director of the Beatles STORY museum - which is home to the exhibition - says, "I was recently made very aware, in addition to everything that Paul has achieved in his career, of his influence on the new generation."

The exhibition will include a video message from the MULL OF KINTYRE singer which includes, "It's great that my old school is now back in use helping the next generation. It's exciting that once again my home town will be the world's target for tomorrow's talent." The museum has also housed exhibitions on deceased Beatles George Harrison and John Lennon.
