Sir Paul McCartney could be facing a £50 million divorce settlement today, as he resumes divorce proceedings with Heather Mills McCartney today.
The two arrived separately at the Royal Courts of Justice in London this morning, with Lady McCartney entering with her head covered in a blanket.
The former Beatle arrived soon afterwards, also using the judge's entrance to bypass the waiting paparazzi.
Court officials barricaded the entrance with four office chairs and covered a small spy hole to prevent the media scrum from eavesdropping on the divorce hearing.
While legal representatives for both parties have refused to comment about a final settlement, speculation is abound that the Heather, 39, could receive around £50 million of Sir Paul's £825 million fortune.
This would be the highest ever divorce settlement in the British courts, surpassing the £48 million paid by insurance mogul John Chapman to his wife of 27 years in 2003.
Sir Paul and Heather announced the end of their four-year marriage in May 2006.
It is thought that Lady McCartney is eager to conclude divorce proceedings in the next three weeks, before their daughter Beatrice's fourth birthday.
