Liam Gallagher's Margarita Misunderstanding Is The Best Paul McCartney Anecdote Ever

Liam Gallagher Sir Paul McCartney

Say what you like about Liam Gallagher, but you can't accuse him of taking himself too seriously. He has recently opened up about the last time he bumped into Sir Paul McCartney, when he was left slightly red-faced after a misunderstanding regarding pizza. It's one of his more amusing anecdotes.

The former Oasis frontman is a big fan of the Beatles, and while he has in the past claimed that he's a bigger fan of the late John Lennon than of Paul McCartney, he can't deny he's still very fond of the 75-year-old musician, even if he is occasionally a little blunt with him.

Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Review

Weak

Subtitled Salazar's Revenge in the UK, this fifth film in the long-running series never quite gets its sea legs. With a waterlogged script and a startlingly murky production design, this is the first movie in the franchise that lacks a sense of swashbuckling merriment. It's lively enough to keep the audience watching, but it never quite makes any sense because any sensible details are lost amid the chaotic action sequences.

It opens with Henry (Brenton Thwaites), son of franchise veterans Will and Elizabeth (Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley in cameos), who is on a quest to free his father from his watery imprisonment. For this he needs Poseidon's trident, which only Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) can find with his magical compass. Except that Jack has swapped the compass to buy some whiskey. Then Will meets the feisty Carina (Kaya Scodelario), who's star-reading skills will come in handy. But the vengeful Salazar (Javier Bardem) is also after the compass and the trident, hoping to reverse his own ghostly curse. And as things heat up, Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) dives into the pursuit as well.

What follows is a series of set-pieces in which these various factions scuffle for control of people and artefacts that can lead them in their quests for power. They all talk incessantly about the elaborately complex mythology, but it never makes any sense why each person knows only fragments of the lore. And it's also not easy to hear what they're shouting amid the general chaos of yet another epically choreographed fight scene. Thankfully, the actors are hammy enough to stand out from the sea of digital effects that fill the screen.

Frances Was Nervous Working With Greg Kurstin

Adele Sir Paul McCartney

Frances found it nerve-wracking going into the studio with Adele's producer Greg Kurstin.

The 24-year-old rising star - whose real name is Sophie Frances Cooke - jumped straight into working the renowned producer shortly after he spent time with the 28-year-old songstress getting her chart-topping single 'Hello' together.

The flame-haired beauty, who had hits 'Gravity' and 'Don't Worry About Me', was aware of how prestigious the 47-year-old songwriter is and so she decided to go in with an idea in mind for her track.

Pirates Of The Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales (Salazar's Revenge) - Featurette and Trailer

It seems Captain Jack Sparrow has been sailing the seas as a pirate for many, many years, and in that time he's made a lot of enemies. As a young trouble-maker, he damned a pirate-hating adversary and his crew to a seabound immortality - and now Captain Salazar has returned to exact his revenge. Panic is afoot when it becomes clear that Captain Salazar has escaped his eternal torment at the bottom of the Devil's Triangle, and as much as Jack loves an adventure almost as much as he loves rum, this time he could truly be out of his depth. It will take more than his trusty compass to help him this time, but thankfully he has the help of a new headstrong maiden named Carina Smyth who happens to be a skilled astronomer, plus the return of his old friend Will Turner. Together they must uncover the Trident of Poseidon before Salazar does, and send the enemy back to their watery graves.

Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales Trailer

Forget Davy Jones' Locker and the Fountain of Youth, Captain Jack Sparrow is on an all new quest as he embarks on the hunt for the fabled trident of Poseidon. It may sound like he's set his sights far too high this time, but he's never failed the crew of the Black Pearl yet - and he really could do with a windfall right about now. To make matters worse, Capitan Salazar is back from the Devil's Triangle with his ghostly crew, and the trident is his only hope of stopping them. This time he's got the help of his old friend Will Turner, who is apparently free of his binding contract with The Flying Dutchman.

John Lennon Lambasts Paul McCartney In Auction Letter Worth $20,000

John Lennon Sir Paul McCartney

A scolding letter written by John Lennon to Linda and Paul McCartney is expected to fetch upwards of $20,000 at auction in Boston, Massachusetts, though it's not clear who the seller is. The closing bid will take place on Thursday (November 17th 2016).

Paul McCartneyPaul McCartney gets scolded by John Lennon in historic letter

The letter consists of two pages written both by hand and on a typewriter with a Bag Productions Inc. letterhead, and is an intimate reflection of the acrimony between the two Beatles and McCartney's wife in the wake of the bands split. It's estimated to have been written around 1971; two years after his marriage to Yoko Ono and a year after the Beatles disbanded.

Sir Paul McCartney Johnny Depp

The trailer for 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' has arrived, and for those who don't already know there are a few exciting new cast additions. Former Beatle Paul McCartney will make a cameo in the movie, filling the outsize boots of Keith Richards.

Oscar winning Paul McCartney is set to cement himself as an actor in an as yet undisclosed character. It makes for an interesting addition, that no doubt came from the success the franchise had with Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones playing Sparrow's father Captain Edward Teague. Unfortunately, we don't get a first look at McCartney in the new trailer, but we do see some other major new additions.

The Beatles: Eight Days A Week - The Touring Years - Trailer and Clips

In 1962 The Beatles were signed to a management deal with a local record shop owner called Brian Epstein after he heard the band playing at their local venue, The Cavern Club, this was the first step in a series of events that soon saw the four lads from Merseyside become the biggest phenomenon the world had ever seen.

Once George Martin signed the band to Parlophone Records, it didn't take long for them to make their first visit to Abbey Road Studios and once they found themselves a permanent drummer in the form of Ringo Starr, the band had a number of possible singles recorded with the likes of 'Love Me Do' and 'Please Please Me', as good as the songs were, their reputation was still unknown and their first single peaked on the singles chart at #17. Their first number one came about after re-recording 'Please Please Me' at a faster tempo and the band began to make TV appearances. The clean shaven boys had style and an edgy quality that attracted young girls and their music was good enough that boys liked them too.

Thousands of fans followed them wherever they went and it lead to the band touring and promoting themselves and their music continually.

The guitar and the drum head fetched two of the highest prices ever paid for items of rock and roll memorabilia. Lennon’s guitar had been in the possession of novice musician John McCaw for decades, who bought it in the late 1960s without knowing it had been stolen from the Beatle.
