The Noisettes - Don't Upset The Rhythm Single Review
|
Review of The Noisettes' single 'Don't Upset The Rhythm' released through Mercury Records on 23rd March 09.
If you think this track sounds familiar, you're right. It was used on a well known car ad. This would normally put people off but thankfully Don't Upset The Rhythm is now getting the radio play it deserves in time for it's upcoming release.
This London based trio create a funky retro sound that falls somewhere between old school rock and roll and modern disco. It is dominated by lead singer Shingai Shoniwa's sleek, melodic vocals and oozes the funky soul that we have come to expect from the Noisettes. It is an upbeat galloping tune with a wonderfully catchy hook and will no doubt be a Dancefloor-filler. But there is something more to it, the shiny disco exterior also has a certain edginess that draws you in and leaves you wanting more.
Don't Upset The Rhythm is the debut track from their upcoming album 'Wild Young Hearts' and if the single is anything to go by, it might just be the must have album of the summer.
