Review of The Reeling Single by Passion Pit

Review of Passion Pit's single The Reeling released through Columbia.

Passion Pit The Reeling Single

The Massachusetts electro-pop 5-piece release The Reeling, the first single from their upcoming full length debut album, Manners - out 19th May on Columbia. Recently making the BBC Sound of 2009 rising star list the band are tipped for great things, and The Reeling has already received some decent radio play.

Passion Pit fans will find the song has a much bigger sound and slicker production than the tunes on their Chunk Of Change EP and is all the better for it. It has a retro 80s synth-pop feel and the vocals just add to that; Michael Angelakos is even joined by a children's choir for the chorus to complete the sound.

Despite the introspective lyrics 'Look at me, oh look at me/Is this the way I'll always be?' this song will make you smile and is the perfect summer dance tune.

Rating: 7/10
