Kasms Male Bonding Single

Having never been one to pay that much attention to the capital's ubercool music "scene", it seems we've stumbled across a band from within such a scene who are actually quite good.

London four-piece Kasms aren't your average run-of-the-mill outfit. No sirree, there's a hell of a lot more going on in 'Male Bonding''s two-and-a-half minutes than many bands we can't be bothered to mention are capable of fitting into an entire album.

Lead singer/screamer/shrieker Rachel Mary Callaghan sounds both tempestuous and terrifying in equal measures, like Siouxsie Sioux baiting Kathleen Hanna over purchasing the last can of hairspray in Boots. Musically, Kasms sound like an amalgam of post-punk agitators like Gang Of Four and The Comsat Angels whilst the industrial gothic savvy of Bauhaus and Alien Sex Fiend lurks uncomfortably in the distance.

I guess what I'm really trying to say is I like this. A lot.

8/10
