JP - He's My Style Single Review
I have to say it gets rarer and rarer these days that an artist comes along that literally takes my breath away and sends a shiver down my spine. Jocelyn Parker AKA JP is just that kind of artist; from the opening guitar strum her seductive, husky, unique sounding vocal grabs your attention. Then there is the lyrics and boy what lyrics! A story is told of a woman's love for another woman's man from both women's perspectives because the man is so lovely and such a gentleman. Add to this a rap that sounds like its straight out of a Floetry track it's that slick and tight. Also add hot production from legendary producer Herb Middleton (Mary J Blige, SWV, Usher, Faith Evans and many more) that is simple but so effective as a backbeat for this amazing vocalist to just melt into.
The biggest compliment I can pay JP is, not since Lauryn Hill debut album, have I been this excited in anticipation of a debut album. Already one of THE tracks of 2010 for me, this amazingly talented lady is here to stay, remember where you heard about her first Jocelyn Parker one to watch for in 2010.
