A Place To Bury Strangers Missing You Single

There's not a lot left to say about Brooklyn's A Place To Bury Strangers that hasn't already been written on numerous occasions, and yet, despite the fact 'Missing You', the opening track off their self-titled debut album has seemingly been around for what feels like ever, its opening bars never fail to raise the hairs on the back of one's neck.

As album openers go, 'Missing You' is undoubtedly up there alongside 'Untitled' and 'Just Like Honey' as one of the most potent, seamlessly addictive of all time, and perhaps the only surprise here is that it has taken so long for the song itself to be released as a 45 in its own right, such are its defining qualities as to what A Place To Bury Strangers ultimately represent.

The only downside with this release are that amongst its four tracks there are no hints at new material, with the rest of this EP taken up by a demo version of the title track, and two remixes of previous single 'To Fix The Gash In Your Head' - one a percussion-heavy remake by Dandy Warhol Peter Holmstrom - respectively.

The whole purpose of this release, of course, is nothing more than a timely reminder that APTBS are back on British soils for a handful of dates this week and the early part of next, and if ever there were a reason to venture out into the brisk evenings of spring, this would be it.

7/10
