Simon Cowell wants his name removed from Andrew and Lauren Silverman's divorce papers.

Socialite Lauren - who is estranged from her husband Andrew, a close friend of the 53-year-old music mogul - is pregnant with Simon's baby and after her spouse accused them of adultery in his divorce papers, Simon's lawyers rushed to remove him from the embarrassing situation.

A source told the New York Daily News: ''The lawyers are working out an agreement to drop the adultery claims.

''[Andrew and Simon] were friends because of Lauren. He wants Andrew out of his life. Andrew's acting out because he's embarrassed. He named Simon in the divorce papers when there was no need to. Hopefully by next week Simon will be out of this.''

Despite the shock pregnancy, Simon is thought to be overjoyed at the idea of becoming a father and has told Lauren, 36, he wants them to be together.

The insider added: ''They're totally in love. They speak multiple times a day. Simon was surprised, but he's very excited about the baby. He wants to have a girl, but they won't know until the amniocentesis in the fourth month.''

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Lauren and Andrew are close to working out a divorce deal and custody arrangements for their seven-year-old son, Adam.

A source told MailOnline: ''There have been productive conversations over the weekend.

''Lauren and Andrew are intent on resolving this - and Simon also wants it resolved.''
