Music mogul Simon Cowell has spoken out about his support of the Health Lottery which he believes is an ''important'' organisation is helping raise money for those who need it.
Simon Cowell supports Health Lottery because there is not enough money to support good causes in the UK.
The music mogul was hosting the fund's Afternoon Tea at Claridges Hotel in London yesterday (28.03.13) and explained he thinks it's a vital part of helping those in need, particularly when the economy is poor.
Speaking at the event, he said: ''There's always some cynicism in this country about some commercial enterprises.
''We don't have enough money in this country to support locals charities and that's why the Health Lottery is so important.''
The 53-year-old star added the appeal of the fund is it combines the chance to ''win money'' with a way of providing those in need with ''support.''
He explained: ''The benefits of the Health Lottery are two fold.
''People get a chance to win money, but most importantly it gives much needed support to local charities.
''That's why today was so important - to hear about money raised and it's also important for everyone to meet the beneficiaries.''
The Health Lottery Afternoon Tea was celebrating those charities and individuals who have benefited from its fundraising, with guests including Blue's Lee Ryan 'The Only Way Is Essex' star Lauren Goodger and former 'EastEnders' actress Natalie Cassidy.
