Simon Cowell has been told he’ll live to be 95, giving the ‘X-Factor’ judge another 40 years to continue his domination of the music business. Cowell has told the Daily Mail he visited an LA doctor who predicted his year of death, using high tech DNA testing.

“I had the DNA test done in LA which predicts when you’re going to die. They take your blood and DNA, then give you back a sheet of paper which says ‘We think you’re going to be alive until xxxx',” Cowell told the newspaper.

 

“Obviously it doesn’t take account of the fact you might get hit by a bus tomorrow, but I got told I’d die aged 95 – which is about as good as you can expect," the music mogul added.

"I think a lot of it is down to having a family now, and a lack of stress. I've learned to deal with stress much better now, things don't bother me in the way that they once used to.” Cowell became a father in February 2014, welcoming son Eric with partner Lauren Silverman.

But the 55 year old is famous for his 20 a-day cigarette habit, something which he says hasn’t negatively affected his health. “My heart, my lungs, my blood – they’ve all been checked,” Cowell said.

“I remember one of the doctors almost being disappointed when he showed me the results because he couldn’t wait to tell me what smoking was doing to me. But there was nothing there.

”Simon’s desire to have the DNA test done came after the death of his mother Julie in July after suffering a long illness. Speaking about his mother’s passing Cowell said, “I think about her every single day, and first thing when I wake up. I’ll look at the phone and want to make that call to her, or I’ll think about her in the car when I’m driving down to Brighton.”
