Has Cowell gotten into a real-life love triangle?
You better be sitting down for this news: it appears Simon Cowell – he of X Factor and American Idol fame – is soon to become a dad. People Magazine reported the news, citing “multiple sources” including s an assistant to Cowell's U.K. rep, who said: "This is a very sensitive issue and all media enquiries are being dealt with by his U.S. attorney."
If ever there was a wrong time to have a baby...
The mother is none other than 36-year-old New York socialite Laura Silverman. What makes the issue so sensitive is the fact that Silverman is married to Andrew Silverman, a real estate mogul and reportedly one of Simon Cowell’s best friends. The Silvermans are reportedly in the midst of a divorce, according to People, but that doesn’t really make the situation any less complicated.
Neither Cowell, nor Silverman has commented on the news at this time
As for the dad-to-be he definitely has some mixed feelings about children. In the past, he hasn’t been even the slightest bit enthusiastic about the pitter patter of little feet around the house. In 2009, the producer said to People: "God, no. I couldn't have children. If I had them here drawing on the walls I'd go nuts. You've got to be up at a certain time. Got to listen. When all you want to do is sit in a corner thinking."
But an AOL interview in 2012 indicates that he might be coming around to the idea – just in time, it would seem. “I do really, really like kids, because I can talk to them and listen to them," he said. "The problem has always been how much time you need to devote to bringing up kids and I've always dedicated all my life to work, and at 52, I've probably missed the opportunity.”
The saying “never say never” couldn’t be more apt.
Wonder how he's feeling about being a baby daddy these days
