British music mogul Simon Cowell's classical boy band Il Divo have stunned chart watchers in America by taking their second album to the top of the album chart.

The four-piece opera-singing group's ANCORA album sold 156,000 copies in its opening week to end Jamie Foxx and Mary J Blige's alternating runs at the top of the Billboard 100.

Country star Josh Turner also scored a big hit with his second album, crashing in at number two with YOUR MAN.

Meanwhile, Florida-based rockers Yellowcard entered the new chart at number five with Lights + SOUNDS and rap-metal group Pod debut at number nine with TESTIFY.
