Sigur Ros star Jonsi is the toast of his native Scandinavia after scooping the inaugural Nordic Music Prize.
The Icelandic rocker's solo debut Go saw off competition from 11 other albums, including Swedish pop star Robyn's latest effort Body Talk, to receive the honour.
The judging panel has heaped praise on Jonsi, insisting, "The music of the winner could only have been made here, in the North. It sounds and almost smells like Iceland.
"It's brave and life-affirming pop music that grabs you by the heart in flamboyant technicolour."
