Sia drove for 13 hours to make it to a gig over the weekend.

The 'Cheap Thrills' hitmaker - who is currently touring Australia - made the dash from Melbourne to Sydney on Saturday after her and her touring crew's flight was cancelled.

She wrote on her social media account: ''I may be five minutes late. We couldn't catch a plane due to weather, so drove thirteen hours then blew a tire which has given me crazy diarrhea. Bear with me guys. I love you.''

She gave fans an update when she was closer to the venue, adding: ''Four minutes from venue. Fully dressed. Ready to go. Bear with me. Massive apologies.''

Back on stage, Sia thanked the crowd for sticking with her.

She shared: ''Thank you for staying out here with me.''

It comes after Sia admitted she doesn't think she is a particularly talented songwriter.

She shared: ''I love the idea of how fast can we make a song but I don't think that I'm necessarily like a super-talented songwriter. I think I'm just really productive. One out of 10 songs is a hit. So where a lot of people will spend three weeks on a song, I will write 10 in three weeks. Maybe the song that they sculpt is going to be just as successful as just one of the 10 that I wrote.''

And Sia had also revealed that Rihanna recently chose four of her songs which the songwriter believes are ''less commercial''.

She explained: ''She chose four that she is interested in and I was surprised at her choices because she did not choose the obvious hits. What she seems to be attracted to at the moment is less commercial.''
