TRANSFORMERS star Shia LaBeouf has said that he is "embarrassed" by his arrest last year.
The 21-year-old actor was apprehended by Chicago police after refusing to leave a local branch of the Walgreens drug store chain in November 2007.
Speaking to Empire magazine, he blamed the incident on "complete and utter insanity", adding that "it was a mistake".
Following his arrest, LaBeouf was charged with trespassing although charges were dropped the following month after the store decided not to take any further action.
He attributed his behaviour to a "strange mind state" following three months of intensive work.
"I can't diminish what happened at all," he added. "But I can say this - I'm not the first 21-year-old to be arrested for a misdemeanour."
The actor is currently filming the fourth INDIANA JONES film alongside Harrison Ford.
INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL is reportedly making its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, four days before its May 22nd release date.
Variety magazine stated that although the festival's organisers have yet to confirm the screening it is hoped that an official announcement will be made in April following a viewing of Steven Spielberg'S finished product.
