Upon arriving at hospital, doctors reportedly determined Shayne Lamas was "bleeding internally around her uterus," before performing emergency surgery, which eventually led to the loss of her baby.
Shayne Lamas is left devastated after losing her baby in a miscarriage.
The 28 year-old, who is most well-known for being victorious on the 12th season of 'The Bachelor', was 16 weeks into her pregnancy.
Lamas was rushed to hospital after husband, Nik Richie, discovered her collapsed at their Orange County home on Sunday evening (Feb 9th).
TMZ reported that the former 'General Hospital' actress was "bleeding internally around her uterus and the situation was dire," when arriving at a Southern California hospital.
It was during the emergency service that the baby was lost.
Nik, who is best known as an internet personality, told the gossip site "Shayne had a life-saving emergency surgery. She is on a ventilator system and is in a sedation-induced coma. Her vital signs are now currently stable."
But Actor Lorenzo Lamas, who is Shayne's father, also gave an update on her current condition to People magazine, but it differs from her husband's.
"We are so grateful that my daughter, Shayne Lamas-Richie, is conscious and stable. She is not in a coma, however she did miscarry the child she was carrying," he said. "We are so very grateful to the hospital personnel and the doctors who saved her life last night."
"Shayne is aware of her condition and that her family and her husband are here with her and love her so much," Lorenzo continued. "She will be remaining in the hospital until her doctors determine that she can be released."
Lamas and Richie, who are already parents to a 2 year-old daughter, announced that she was pregnant for a second time only last month.
The 34 year-old internet blogger hasn't officially commented on the matter but he recently tweeted on Monday morning, "I love you @ShayneDahlLamas."
Shayne and Nik already have a two year-old daughter together
