Olympic snowboarder Shaun White is carving out a new career as a rocker after signing a deal with a major record label.

The gold medallist and his band Bad Things have inked a contract with Warner Bros. Records to release their debut album later this year (13).

White, who plays guitar, started up the group in Los Angeles with childhood pals Anthony Sanudo and Lena Zawaideh, and they recently recruited bassist Jared Palomar, and Davis LeDuke as their frontman.

The band will kick off a two-month tour in New York City in July (13).
