Sharon Stone will never forget the moment she heard she had been nominated for an OSCAR for her performance in 1995 movie CASINO - because all six of her telephones started to ring simultaneously.

Stone was so convinced she wouldn't receive a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her part in director Martin Scorsese's classic mafia film, which also starred Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci, she had prepared herself to be disappointed.

The 47-year-old recalls, "I have six telephone lines in my house. When one line lit up early in the morning I watched it ring three or four times.

"I thought it was my publicist, telling me that I did not get nominated.

"Then - and I could cry as I remember it - all six lines lit up. I started to scream, I knew then it had happened."
