LATEST: Hollywood diva Sharon Stone has dropped her lawsuit against the producers of Basic Instinct 2 - after agreeing to appear in the sequel after all.

The Casino actress was about to embark on a bitter court wrangle with the oft-delayed film's producers - claiming she lost out on a role in MR DEEDS by waiting for production to start - but has now settled her differences with them.

In turn, MARIA KASSAR and ANDREW VANJA - who said in court papers that Stone's set demands were outrageous - have put aside their differences to make the follow-up to the 1992 MICHAEL DOUGLAS-starring smash hit.

Stone enthuses, "The producers are putting the film together. It's a terrific script."
