The comedienne was hired to replace actress Leah Remini on the all-women show in 2011, but before she landed the job, she had one last interview with Osbourne at luxurious Beverly Hills restaurant, the Polo Lounge.
During a Stand Up to Cancer comedy show fundraiser on Tuesday (08Oct13), Underwood revealed the reality Tv matriarch was suffering from influenza during their first encounter, leading to an embarrassing incident.
She recalled, "So I go there and I'm going to meet Sharon Osbourne, I'm very excited. I'm going to get breakfast, right. I order my huevos rancheros over easy... Sharon throws up on me."
Underwood joked, "You know black people are like, 'S**t, she done thrown up on my outfit. And I'm going to get blamed for this rich white lady throwing up in the Polo Lounge. So let me get her out of here. I said, You don't know me, I don't know you. This never happened.' I said, 'Can you drive?' She said, 'Yes.' I said, 'Get in your car.' So she drives off."
Fortunately, Underwood still landed the position, but had to face Osbourne for the first time since the incident at a get-together at co-host Julie Chen's house.
Underwood added, "On the other side of the party, Sharon was telling the story of what happened after we separated. She said she had a flu bug. When she got in her car, she vomited all over the car and she s**t all over the car. I'm thinking, I am so glad I didn't offer her a ride."
