Sharon Osbourne's favourite dog has died.

'The Talk' co-host - who recently voiced her support for her husband Ozzy Osbourne after he admitted to being 44 days sober after becoming hooked on prescription drugs for 18 months - is mourning the death of her beloved pet pooch Maggie, who shot to fame on the family's MTV reality series 'The Osbournes' in 2002.

Sharon, who was spotted crying in a West Hollywood restaurant while talking to a friend on Friday (26.04.13), has yet to comment on her loss but her daughter Kelly, 28, admitted she is devastated.

Writing on her Twitter page on Sunday (28.04.13), the 'Fashion Police' star said: ''Woke up to the worst news ever! I can't stop crying! It really is an end of an era RIP Maggie!!!''

Sharon's official website features several pictures of Maggie along with a bio that reads: ''Maggie Osbourne is a 14 year old Japanese Chin. She is the oldest of the group and therefore is thoroughly spoilt. You would liken Maggie to a Duchess. She is very regal and answers to no one. She is very particular who she shows affection to, usually it's just Ozzy.''

The 60-year-old has been having a tough time recently and admitted this week that she ''didn't realise the extent'' of her husband's problems with prescription drugs.

She said: ''I never knew he was using prescription drugs. I knew he was drinking occasionally but I didn't realise the extent.''

However, the mother-of-three insisted she has no plans to walk away from their marriage.

She said: ''We're not getting divorced. However, am I happy? No. Am I upset? Yes I am. I'm devastated right now.

''It's a disease that not only hurts the person that has the disease but it hurts the family. It hurts people who love you. We're dealing with it. We've dealt with worse. We're dealing with it and this too shall pass.''
