Reality TV star Sharon Osbourne has snubbed an $8.5 million (GBP5 million) offer to turn her colourful life story into a movie.
Hollywood studios have been involved in a bidding war to persuade the rock matriarch to allow her soul-baring autobiography Extreme to be adapted for the big screen.
But Osbourne, married to former hellraiser Ozzy Osbourne, found writing the book so harrowing she refuses to upset her family by dredging old traumas up once again.
She says, "The book was hard to write. And I feel the book covered it all."
Extreme chronicles her family's highs and lows - including alcoholism, drug abuse, bribery, Ozzy's arrest for attempted murder and her own fight against cancer.
