Rock matriarch Sharon Osbourne has finally released the long-awaited all-star cover of Eric Clapton's classic ballad TEARS IN HEAVEN to raise money for victims of the Indian Ocean tsunami (26DEC04).

Sharon has enlisted the singing skills of husband Ozzy and daughter KELLY, as well as SIR Elton John, Rod Stewart, Mary J Blige, Gwen Stefani, Pink, Phil Collins, Robert Downey Jr, Andrea Bocelli, Velvet Revolver and Katie Melua for the track, which went on sale as a download today (18OCT05).

Sharon originally came up with the idea in January (05), but due to its late release date, proceeds of the sale will now go to victims of both the tsunami and Hurricane Katrina, which hit the US Gulf coast in August (29AUG05).

Sharon says, "The magnitude of these natural disasters surpasses anything we've seen in our lifetime.

"With this single and other relief efforts, our intent is to keep these tragedies at the forefront of everyone's minds. We must not forget and do all we can to help these people rebuild their lives.

"Music fans who purchase this single will aid the relief efforts and own an historic recording for which these talented artists graciously donated their time."

Clapton originally composed the song as a tribute for his four-year-old son CONOR, who died in March 1991 after falling from the window of an apartment block.
