Sacha Baron Cohen Threatened With Gun Over Me Julie Casting

Shaggy Sacha Baron Cohen

The British comedian rose to fame in the late '90s with his fictional wannabe gangster character Ali G, and he teamed up with rapper Shaggy in 2002 to create the tongue-in-cheek rap song Me Julie, about Ali G's girlfriend.

Sacha brought the woman he wanted to play Me Julie over from London to the shoot in Jamaica, but Shaggy's manager wanted somebody else in the role and brandished a gun to get his way.

He writes during an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit.com, "One interesting story there was Shaggy's manager said to me, the director (Jonas Akerlund), brought us up to his villa and said 'Listen, I've cast Me Julie' and we said 'No no no, don't worry about that, we've actually cast Me Julie, we found her in London and brought her to Jamaica' and he said 'No no no, you see that woman over there?' We look over and see a semi naked woman in his bed.

Shaggy: Military Prepared Me For Music

Shaggy

Shaggy believes the military prepared him to be a pop star.

The 'It Wasn't Me' hitmaker spent four years in the Marines before embarking on his music career and claims the tough training was perfect preparation for his hectic career because it taught him how to be alert after having hardly any sleep.

He explained: ''I go to bed late and get up early. In this game, to win it, you have to do that. I flew in last night and I could have had a club appearance at 2am and be on your show in the morning - I could have done that. And I would have been on time. The military prepared me to do that because you go to bed late and get up early, and I did that for four years.''

Music fans have named Lady GaGa, Miley Cyrus and Rihanna in their top ten hardest artists to understand lyrically. 2000 people took part in the poll, which was created by Blinkbox music, a music streaming service.  The poll aimed to find out which artist's lyrics fans find the hardest to decipher.

Ozzy Osbourne Black Sabbath Music fans have named Ozzy Osbourne the hardest artist to understand

Ozzy Osbourne bagged first place as the artist whose music is hardest to make out. Fans are often left confused about what the Black Sabbath frontman is saying in his songs. It’s unclear whether they are able to understand him when he isn’t singing, as demonstrated by his bizarre Grammys intro speech.

Shaggy Not Dead: It's Just Another Weird Hoax

Shaggy

The three words, Shaggy not dead, are not what you expect to hear after the three words, Shaggy is dead, but such is the world of gossip, rumours and hearsay we live in, death hoaxes are commonplace.

Shaggy - real name Orville Richard Burrell - is the latest celeb deemed just out of touch enough, yet a big enough name to warrant a fake death. TMZ broke the truth, saying, "Reggae pop star Shaggy was not stabbed in a bar fight this week ... and he sure as hell ain't dead despite Internet reports to the contrary ... this according to a living, breathing Shaggy."

A rep told the site, "[Shaggy] is like a cat with 9 lives ... but I can happily report that he's alive and kicking and in the same building as me right now as we speak."

Shaggy Not Dead: Reggae Star DID NOT Die In Los Angeles Bar Fight

Shaggy Pitbull

Shaggy is not dead. Repeat. Shaggy is NOT DEAD. It seems the reggae pop star is the latest celebrity to fall victim to the notorious Twitter death-hoax. Internet reports suggested the "It Wasn't Me" singer had passed away after a particularly bloody bar brawl in Los Angeles.

Someone even updated Shaggy's Wikipedia page with bogus information on the fight and the rapper's subsequent death. It isn't the first time that Mr Boombastic has been rumored to have been killed, it's actually happened plenty of times before. We're pretty sure he fell off a cliff while skiing in Austria, or was that Ryan Gosling? Anyway, the reggae star defiantly told TMZ.com in the first person, "[Shaggy] is like a cat with 9 lives.  But I can happily report that he's alive and kicking and in the same building as me right now as we speak."

Shaggy - who dubs himself an "International Superstar" on his Twitter profile - released his last album Summer In Kingston on July 19, 2011. The record featured guest vocals from Cuban rapper Pitbull and was initially priced at just $2.99 through iTunes, Amazon and other major digital outlets.

Shaggy Death Rumours Are False

Shaggy

Reggae superstar Shaggy became the latest victim of a celebrity death hoax on Wednesday (23Jan13) following false reports suggesting he was killed in a bar fight.

Rumours began circulating online that the It Wasn't Me hitmaker had been stabbed to death in Los Angeles earlier this week (begs 21Jan13) and the singer's information page on online encyclopedia Wikipedia had even been updated to mark his passing, but a representative for the star has spoken out to deny the claims.

The spokesman tells Tmz.com, "I can happily report that he’s (Shaggy) alive and kicking and in the same building as me right now as we speak."

Shaggy: There Are No Classic Songs In The Charts

Shaggy Jimmy Cliff Morgan Heritage The Roots Toots And The Maytals Indigo2

Shaggy doesn't think artists make ''classic'' pop songs anymore.

The 'Mr Boombastic' hitmaker's recent output has seen him return to his Jamaican Roots, as he doesn't think the songs in the charts today have any longevity to them.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ''I make the music I want to make, it's a different game out there now. The type of music that's going out in the charts isn't the type of music I want to make.

Shaggy: I Can't Smoke Weed Like Sean Paul

Shaggy Jimmy Cliff Morgan Heritage Sean Paul Toots And The Maytals Indigo2

Shaggy can't smoke marijuana like Sean Paul.

The 'It Wasn't Me' hitmaker and his fellow Jamaican singer are friends and collaborated on the track 'Hey Sexy Lady', but Shaggy wouldn't want to smoke marijuana with Paul because he ''takes it to the next level.''

Shaggy exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ''I have grown up with members of my family using marijuana, it has become part of our lives and part of our culture, so, you know I'm a little more lenient to it than most people.
