Hit US TV shows Sex And The City and The West Wing are competing at America's 57TH ANNUAL WRITERS GUILD AWARDS after receiving two nominations each in the television categories.

The now defunct Sex and The City - about the sex lives of four female New Yorkers - has two episodes, entitled SPLAT and THE ICK FACTOR, nominated in the Episodic Comedy category.

And political drama West Wing - about workers in the west wing area of the US President's White House - is dominating the Episodic Drama category with popular episodes MEMORIAL DAY and The Supremes.
