Selena Gomez recently announced she had cancelled an Australian leg of her 'Stars Dance' tour that was scheduled for early next year.

The 21 year-old is taking advantage of her new free schedule by spending time with someone very special to her.

In a photo posted on her Instagram, Gomez is seen cuddling a baby and the caption accompanying the pic reads, "I'm the happiest I've been in a while. So blessed and thankful for the future, for release and to finally be happy for those I loved."

Although the photo didn't clearly reference her cancellation of upcoming tour dates, the 'Come & Get It' singer most likely had that in mind, with one of the main reasons for the dates being rescheduled was due to her wanting to spend more time with family.

Gomez released a statement this past Thursday (Dec 19th) addressing the news, "My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them," she said.

Adding, "But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be."

The 'Stars Dance' tour kicked off earlier this year in August (2013) in Vancouver, Canada and she has recently finished performing in 55 cities around the globe, as well as recently playing for the Jingle Ball holiday concert series.

Fans who have already purchased tickets will be given a full refund.
