Sean Combs, Jermaine Dupri, Chuck D and Faith Evans are among the stars who have paid tribute to the Notorious B.I.G. on the 15th anniversary of his death.
The New York hip-hop star, real name Christopher Wallace, died in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles on 9 March, 1997, aged just 24, and 15 years later, the killer has yet to be brought to justice.
Friday (09Mar12) marks exactly 15 years since the star's murder and his friends and fans have taken to Twitter.com to remember his life and work.
In a post on the social networking site, Public Enemy star Chuck D writes, "Rap History: This Day in 1997: The Notorious B.I.G. is murdered. Rip Big," while the late star's close friend, Sean 'Diddy' Combs, simply adds, "BigRip... Big Rip rt (re-tweet) to da (the) world!"
Hip-hop producer Jermaine Dupri posted a link to a Da Brat song he worked on with B.I.G called Dirty B Side and he even wrote out the rap lyrics: "Jermaine Dupri, Da Brat, and The Notorious B.I.G. - Da B Side: Remembering the Notorious... No human being, Korean or European, be seeing what Big be seeing, I leave um peeing, in they draws because Biggie smalls is far from weak."
B.I.G.'s widow Faith Evans will mark the passing of her late husband by hosting an event at a nightclub in New York on Friday and she urged fans to take part, writing, "NY/Tri-state come celebrate the life & legacy of The Notorious Big Fri March 9 at Club Rebel in Nyc... New York, y'all ready? We gonna celebrate the Notorious B.I.G... We're doing it Big for B.I.G."
