Sean Combs' former protege G. Dep is facing a minimum 15 years in jail after he was convicted of murder.
The rapper, real name Trevell Coleman, handed himself in to police in 2010 and confessed to shooting 17-year-old John Henkel during a botched robbery in New York in 1993.
He later pleaded not guilty, claiming cops had mistakenly matched him to the killing, but was convicted on Tuesday (17Apr12).
Speaking after the case, Coleman's lawyer said, "I told him to not regret his decision and that God won't abandon him."
