Rap mogul Sean Combs found himself targeted by internet hackers in the early hours of Thursday (03Dec09) when a prankster broke into his Twitter.com account.
The star is a big fan of the social networking site and keeps fans updated on his thoughts and whereabouts throughout the day.
But fans were stunned to read a tweet from Combs apparently advertising a cell phone store in downtown Manhattan, New York, when he was partying in Atlanta, Georgia.
The post read: "Go cop your new phone from Verizon Wireless... in Tribeca."
Combs noticed the bogus post minutes later and alerted his followers to the web attack.
He responded: "Don't go cop no new phone from nowhere (sic) in Tribeca... Someone tried to break in(to) my Twitter.. lol (laugh out loud)."
The rapper isn't the only celebrity to be targeted by online hackers - Britney Spears became a victim of an internet hoax last month (Nov09) when her Twitter.com page appeared to declare her dedication to Satanism.
