Scotty Mccreery, the 17-year-old country musician and American Idol winner, has been compared to pop sensation Justin Bieber by fellow 'Idol' finalist Lauren Alaina, reports MTV News. Scotty Mccreery, who won last week's final with a record number of votes, recently earned the nickname 'Country Bieber'.
Responding to the new moniker, MCCreery said, "Country Bieber ... I mean, Justin Bieber is the epitome of a big star, so it was cool for me", but Alaina quickly noted, "Girls love Scotty MCCreery like they love Justin Bieber. It's true". The country-musician seemed humbled by the comparison, saying, "Thank you, Lauren. I just figure it's because of our age. Me and Justin are pretty much two young guns". After being crowned American Idol champion, MCCreery says he has found time to think about his debut album, saying, "It's gonna be a good old country album. I like to have that old flavour in my music, but with a contemporary feel, so we'll see where that leads me. I think it'll be a good little mix". His close friend Alaina will join him on the forthcoming 'American Idols Live!' tour, which kicks on 6th July in Salt Lake City and wraps up on 10th September in Rochester, New York.
Scotty Mcreery's first official single 'I Love You This Big', is already the biggest-selling debut single by an American Idol champion since David Cook's 'The Time of My Life' in 2008.
