Hollywood offspring Scott Caan had a manic first-time director's experience when a Los Angeles screening of his movie Dallas 362 erupted into chaos.

Guests outside the LITTLE THEATER at the Fox Studios lot came close to exchanging punches, according to sources. Things got heated when around 60 guests couldn't get in to see the film, which took top honours at CINEVEGAS.

According to the LOS ANGELES DAILY NEWS, four Fox fire department employees had to restore order among the filmgoers, which included producers, representatives from distribution companies and guests of the cast and crew.

All of those left on the outside without a seat were sent home - with Caan himself reportedly leaving as well.

The film, about two close pals living the fast life in Los Angeles, stars Jeff Goldblum, Heavy D and Selma Blair.
