Saul Zaentz and Milos Forman are set to bring the story of Spanish artist GOYA to the big screen in a spectacular biopic shooting this year (05).

The filmmaking duo, who produced Amadeus (84) and ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST (75), are hoping to recruit Hispanic hunk Javier Bardem and Natalie Portman to play lead roles in the movie, which explores the 18th century recluse's boyhood in Zaragoza, his days spent painting for the Spanish Royal Family and his lonely death in France in 1828.

The screenplay has been written by OSCAR-nominated writer JEAN-CLAUDE CARRIERE.
