Last week Sarah Michelle Gellar announced she’d be reprising her role as Kathryn Merteuil in NBC's Cruel Intentions sequel pilot. Now the 38-year-old actress is really starting to get into character, as she’s switched her trademark blonde locks for Kathryn’s dark-brown do.

Gellar posted a photo of her new hair on Instagram writing, ‘What is happening????’. Later she shared a fuller pic of her new look with the caption: ‘#brownhairdontcare (actually kind of love it!!) thank you everyone’.

The pilot will pick up 15 years after the events of the movie, with Gellar’s character now vying for control of her late brother Sebastian Valmont’s company, Valmont International. Kathryn will also have to use her powers of manipulation on Sebastian’s son, Bash Casey, after he discovers his late father's legacy in a hidden journal and is introduced to a world of sex, money, power and corruption.
