We practically fell off our chair with excitement when we saw that Buffy and Angel, sorry, Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz have recently been reunited! Sarah tweeted a pic of her and her old co-star/onscreen soulmate (Buffy & Angel 4eva), also posing with Emily Deschanel, David’s current co-star.

We’d love to believe that this meant a new Buffy movie in the works, but we don’t want to get our hopes up too much. Especially since Buffy creator/genius Joss Whedon is currently writing and directing the next Avengers movie, Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is due to come out in 2015. We understand you probably have your hands full, but Joss, if you’re out there, #BringBackBuffy!

So, where are our beloved Buffy cast these days? Are they still kicking supernatural ass or have they settled into less dangerous acting gigs?

Sarah Michelle Gellar went on to star in horror movies The Grudge 1 and 2, before settling into a TV career again. She starred in The Ringer between 2011-2012 and has played Sydney Roberts in The Crazy Ones since 2013. She’s also mom to two little ones with long term partner and hubby, Freddie Prinze Jr., who she has been married to since 2002.

David Boreanaz (sigh, he’ll always be Angel to us) appeared in the underrated Buffy spinoff Angel between 1999-2004, and has also starred as himself on an episode of Family Guy. He’s appeared in cold case comedy/crime series (sounds like a bit of an oxymoron, doesn’t it?) Bones since 2005 which has been renewed for it’s tenth season, having run for nearly 9 years.

We’ve probably seen the most of Alyson Hannigan who has starred in hugely popular How I Met Your Mother as Lily since 2005. The show will be coming to an end after it’s current season, we wonder what’s next for Willow Rosenberg?  In her personal life Alyson is married to fellow Buffy star Alexis Denisof AKA Wesley and the pair have two children together.

Nicholas Brendon AKA Xander Harris admitted struggling with alcoholism at a fan convention in 2004, but he hasn’t let his illness hold him back and has had a recurring role on police procedural show Criminal Minds since 2007.

James Marsters who played bad vamp turned world savior, Spike, also appeared on spin-off show Angel alongside David Boreanaz (we love you Joss, but that was a bit of a cop out, it took so much of the power out of the final scenes of Buffy). He also starred in the 2008 Star Wars movie, The Clone Wars and had a role on Smallville from 2007-2008.

Anthony Head was everybody’s favourite boff, but his roles since Giles haven’t been quite so clean cut. Head starred in The Inbetweeners movie as Will’s absentee dad, as well as comedy show Little Britain as the Prime Minister. He appeared alongside Meryl Streep in The Iron Lady and has recently played Chiron in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters.

All of the Buffy crew seem to have moved on effortlessly with their careers, but they’ll also be Buffy, Angel, Xander, Willow and Giles to us!
