In the obituary, Judy paid tribute to her late daughter and explained the impact 7th Heaven had on her daughter's life and how she became a recognisable face. Judy said "She would walk down the street here, or places in Wisconsin, and people would come up to her and say, 'You played the daughter' of the rabbi."
Judy further mentioned how ironic Goldberg's role on 7th Heaven had been as "She wanted to go to medical school, and instead for three years she played a doctor on 7th Heaven."
Barry Watson, who also starred in 7th Heaven as her on-screen romance Matt Camden, publically expressed his loss and wrote on Twitter, "Sarah. I will miss you always. Love Ya!"
