Sandra Bullock's past year has been a success to say the least, and after starring in two blockbuster hits, the Academy Award-winning actress has topped Forbes' list of highest-paid Hollywood actresses from June 2013 to June 2014, earning a staggering $51 million.
Bullock is the highest earning actress from this past year
Bullock achieved this honour with two rather memorable roles from the last 12 months, with the first coming in the form of FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn in the smash hit comedy 'The Heat, which she stars alongside Melissa McCarthy as Detective Shannon Mullins.
The movie, which follows two very different law enforcers who are forced to team up to tackle Boston's most ruthless mobsters, earned a whopping $230,000 at the worldwide box office and won several awards, including a Teen Choice Award for 'Summer Movie Star: Female' (Bullock).
However, the majority of the 50 year-old actress's earning would have come from starring alongside George Clooney in the sci-fi thriller 'Gravity,' which raked in $716 million at the worldwide box office.
The critically acclaimed film, which depicts two astronauts attempting to find safety after becoming adrift in orbit, garnered ten Oscar nominations, winning seven with none going towards Bullock, who received a nod for Best Actress.
Bullock eclipsed her competitors as the closest to her was Jennifer Lawrence, who finished in second place with $34 million. The 23 year-old's film credits from the last year include huge flicks such as 'X-Men: Days of Future Past,' 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' and 'American Hustle,' which she also earned an Oscar nomination.
