The actress noticed a stalker lurking near her LA property.
Sandra Bullock is sure to be upping her home security after a "hot prowler" was arrested lurking near her LA property. The intruder, who has been named as 39 year-old Joshua Corbett, made an attempt to break into the actress' home when Sandra was inside, alerting the attention of police on Sunday morning.
"An intruder was arrested on [her] property this morning," Bullock's rep confirmed to People. "She is unharmed and is fine." A Los Angeles police spokeswoman, Nuria Vanegas, has also confirmed that officers responded to the call of a prowler around 6:30 a.m. Sunday and arrested Corbett on suspicion of residential burglary.
Bullock had been celebrating her win at Spike TV's Guys' Choice Awards on Saturday night before she returned home to wind down and catch some Zz's. The Daily Mail reports that Corbett's entry attempt was made as the Gravity star slept, which has earned him the tag "hot prowler."
When police arrived, the man was reportedly in the actress' West LA yard "checking out the house" when police arrived. It is apparently unclear whether Corbett was a burglar or a stalker hoping to catch a glimpse of the sleeping 49 year-old star but he has been booked on suspicion of the former and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
The incident represents an evening's change in fortunes for the actress, who only hours earlier had been on a high from her flattering win at the Guys' Choice Awards, where she won the "Decade of Hotness" title. Wearing a Miss Congeniality-style tiara, sash and pink dress, Bullock said in her speech "I feel like I'm at my funeral. Decade of Hotness...My question was what decade? I have several under my belt."
"It should really be Decade of Hot Mess. That I can own and I do that well and I'm still convinced I'm up here because someone dropped out and they needed someone quickly and we know I'm home on Saturdays," she joked.
Sandra Bullock has not yet commented publically on the reports.
