Samuel Preston of British band The Ordinary Boys has been slammed for pulling out of charity gig because his fee wasn't high enough. The singer's manager allegedly demanded several thousands of pounds for the band to perform at a fundraising event for Malian arts charity Aduna in London last Thursday (16NOV06). However, when organisers refused to pay, they received a mobile phone text message saying that Preston was too ill to perform. Aduna's director, SARAH HARDCASTLE, is furious Preston didn't honour the engagement because she personally organised his stag party in Malian capital Bamako ahead of his recent marriage to reality television star CHANTELLE HOUGHTON. Hardcastle says, "I'd sorted everything, even their hotel, then they demanded money when all the others performed for free." Preston's spokesman says, "We asked for costs but then he genuinely fell ill." Blur star Damon Albarn and DJ Fatboy Slim were among the stars who performed at the Aduna charity concert hosted at London club Fabric.
