Hollywood actor Samuel L Jackson proved to be an intimidating force for his daughter ZOE's boyfriends when she first started dating - because he refused to speak to them.

Jackson admits that when Zoe, now 21, began bringing boys home, he wasted no time in letting them know where they stood.

He says, "Guys would come in and speak to me, and I'd just stare at them. I was like, 'You're not here to talk to me.' She'd say, 'Dad, you gotta speak to them.'

"Why should I? As soon as I talk to them, it opens the door for them to think it's okay for them to be there, and I don't want them to even think that."

But he did speak to one of his daughter's admirers: "I told one guy not to f**k my daughter. Just like that. He kind of blanched. His eyes got big.

"He had come in and insisted on having a conversation with me. I was trying to watch a game, and he was like, 'How are you doing?' I looked at him. He was like, 'I just want you to know it's really good to meet you... and we're going to the movies...' And I said, 'Don't f**k her!'

"My daughter walked in just as I said that. She was like, 'Dad!' Then she grabbed him and left. That's pretty much all the conversation I had with that kid."
