Samuel L Jackson is assuring outraged fans he had nothing to do with his wax model's appearance in a controversial nativity scene.
The display, which was recently housed at London's Madame Tussauds, displayed DAVID and Victoria Beckham as Jesus Christ's parents JOSEPH and MARY, as well as Kylie Minogue as an angel and SAMUEL L JACKSON, Hugh Grant and Graham Norton as shepherds.
The display was eventually closed, after several church leaders voiced their disapproval - but Jackson still encounters the occasional disgruntled fan.
He says, "The church got all upset about it and I don't know why they think we have something to do with that.
"I'm a wax figure in Madam Tussauds. They can take my clothes off and put anything else on me they want. They can put me in drag and I wouldn't know it, unless they published it...
"The British didn't care. The Vatican started something and a couple of other religious groups were upset about it. But it's a cool thing to kinda make Christmas different and get people to come in and let them know that the real meaning of Christmas is the nativity."24/01/2005 21:20
