Rock legends Sammy Hagar and Mick Jones have confirmed reports suggesting the two old pals have reunited in the studio to work on a series of new songs.

Chickenfoot frontman Hagar, who famously worked with Foreigner founder Jones on Van Halen's 1986 album 5150, has posted a photo of the two rockers dining at his Mill Valley, California restaurant El Paseo on Facebook.com.

The accompanying caption reads: "Mick Jones and myself enjoying a great dinner at El Paseo Restaurant after writing for two days together at my studio. What a blast - old friends getting together and writing some new songs."
