On Friday (10th October), the Washington state police said Upham had been missing for six days. As the NY Daily News reports, Upham was last seen on Sunday (5th October) in the city of Auburn, 20 miles north of Seattle. The Native American actress was reported missing by her father on Monday (6th October). She has reportedly not been in touch with any member of her family or her friends since Sunday.

Auburn Police Commander Steve Stocker said Upham reportedly left an apartment alone and was seen walking by herself. The police had responded to a suicide call at the apartment but Upham had left by the time they arrived. Apparently this is the fourth time in a year the police have responded to a suicide call at the same apartment. Indian Country reports the apartment belongs to Upham's sister and is located on the Muckleshoot Reservation.

Upham's father, Charles Upham, issued a statement in which he described his daughter as "an endangered missing person due to a medical condition." Upham's parents stated their daughter is taking medication for mental health issues.

Upham is best known for her role in the 2013 drama August: Osage County, in which she played the housekeeper Johnna. She has also starred in such films as Django Unchained (2012) and Frozen River (2008).  Upham has most recently appeared in the film Cake, supporting Jennifer Aniston and Sam Worthington in the lead roles.
