It really must take two, as Sunday night’s Grammy awards are proving the best things come in pairs.
The Grammy Awards certainly has a reputation for delivering some of the best (and most surprising) musical performances of the year. But the 2015 line-up looks set to blow previous years away, as a number of dream come true duets have been announced for Sunday’s ceremony.
Sam Smith will share the Grammy's stage with Mary J Blige
British singer and first time nominee Sam Smith will be taking the stage with the Queen of soul Mary J Blige, for what promises to be an unmissable performance. The pair previously worked together on the song ‘Therapy’ from Blige’s The London Sessions album.
Beck will be teaming up with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin on the evening to perform a track from his Grammy nominated album Morning Phase. Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga will also take the stage together for a rendition of one of their Cheek to Cheek collaborations.
Jessie J has been announced as partnering with fellow judge on Britain’s ‘The Voice’ Tom Jones. While judges from the American version of the talent show, Adam Levine and Gwen Stefani, will also take the stage together.
Ed Sheeran has plenty of friends for Sunday night
One particularly popular artist is nominee Ed Sheeran, who will be joined by former winners Herbie Hancock, John Mayer and Questlove for a special performance, before also teaming with the recently reunited ELO.
Also performing together will be nominee Brandy Clark and Dwight Yoakam, rapper Common alongside John Legend and ‘Take Me To Church’ singer Hozier with the legendary Annie Lennox.
Katy Perry, Sia, AC/DC, Eric Church, Juanes, Lang Lang, Ariana Grande, Miranda Lambert, Usher, Pharrell Williams and the Queen of Pop herself Madonna, will all also be performing on the big night.
