OSCAR-winning director Sam Mendes has founded an ambitious new
entertainment company SCAMP FILM AND TELEVISION.
The American Beauty film-maker is returning to his theatrical roots with a
series of stage adaptations, including a reworking of animated comedy Shrek and
his version of classic horror SWEENEY TODD.
Mendes - who used to be the creative director of London's acclaimed DONMAR
WAREHOUSE theatre - will oversee another 11 theatrical productions, plus a
range of film projects including an adaptation of KHALED HOSSEINI's novel THE
