Bollywood star Salman Khan has been named the 2008 winner of Indian cinema prize the Variety Zee Cine Award.
The actor will pick up the accolade at a ceremony to be held at London's Docklands on Saturday (26Apr08).
The prize is handed out to the individual responsible for helping to take Bollywood culture to a global stage. Khan succeeds last year's winner Yash Raj Chopra.
Six other awards will be presented at the 14th annual ceremony, which is aired in 128 countries to an audience of 500 million.
