Sadie Frost is to play a stripper in a West End play.

The 49-year-old star has revealed she will play the late American burlesque entertainer Gypsy Rose Lee in the play, which will tell the story of composer Benjamin Britten, who was one of Gypsy's friends.

She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ''I'm doing a play in the West End playing Gypsy Rose Lee. It's called 'Britten', and is about Benjamin Britten and his life.''

The 'Dracula' actress - who has a son, Finlay, 24, from her relationship with Gary Kemp, as well as Rafferty, 18, Iris, 14, and Rudy, 12, from her marriage to Jude Law - continued to say she ''can't wait'' to take to the stage for the production to show the world her talent as a performer.

Speaking about her character, she added: ''She sings, she strips and she has proper amazing lines. I can't wait.''

Sadie - who was speaking at the unveiling of Wyld's music-reactive uniforms designed by Claire Barrow and Glofaster in London on Wednesday evening (20.05.15) - recently completed her masters degree in film studies at Staffordshire University, meaning she now has time to star in the production.

A source added: ''She's really excited about being in the play. She's only just finished her masters but already wants to throw herself back into acting in front of an audience.''
