Ryan Seacrest has been named number-one on a list of "The Most Powerful People in Reality Television', according to the Hollywood Reporter. 36-year-old Ryan Seacrest ousts Simon Cowell, who has held the top spot since 2009.
The radio and television presenter, whose company 'Ryan Seacrest Productions' produces a number of reality television shows including 'Keeping up with the Kardashians', is the current host of American Idol. The show's creator Simon Fuller recently paid tribute to Seacrest, saying, "Ryan absolutely has his finger on the pulse because he's talking to America every day through his radio show. He knows what people are thinking about, and as a producer that really gives him a leg up. He's the unsung hero of American Idol. Ryan is one person I would not want to lose". Elsewhere on the list, Jennifer Darnell of CBS took third place, while ABC Entertainment's John Saade came in forth. Other notable entries include the British chef Gordon Ramsey, 'Jersey Shore' producer Sally Ann Salsano and 'Kardashian' matriarch Kris Jenner.
Ryan Seacrest was initially rumoured to be the replacement for Larry King after the talk show veteran left his post on 'Larry King Live', however, British television personality Piers Morgan was eventually given the job.
